About the Pastor
Dr. Jerry L. Edge, 48 years of age, raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina and has a successful business located in Fayetteville which was founded by him in 1988 known as Tarheel Builders.
Education
School: Dr. Edge graduated from Southview High School in 1977.
College: He attended 3 years at East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, North Carolina and he received his Associate Degree in Biblical Studies in 1986 and his Ministerial Internship Graduate in 1984. He also received his Masters in Biblical Studies and Theology in 2002 and a Doctorate in Biblical Studies and Theology in 2004 from Catalpa Bible College.
License
Dr. Edge holds a license with the Church of God Headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee in which he is an ordained Bishop.

Dr. Edge has evangelized for 14 years all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Dr. Jerry L. Edge and his wife Brenda came to Raeford on Mother's Day 2002. Since arriving, Pastor Edge has endeavored to do his best for us, in leading us to a deeper walk in God and also by showing us the importance of serving God with all of our heart and the importance of being obedient to the voice of God and honoring his will for us.
The Pastor first lead us through a renovation program of the existing
Raeford
Church during his years at the Church. God blessed the Church so we became debt free. Afterward as he continued his Pastorate, he felt God's lead to lead us in moving the congregation to another area that would give us a chance for further growth in our Church. During this time God gave us a new vision, a new mission, new hope, new membership and of course a new location and a change in the Church name, which is now known as the Celebration of Praise Church of God.
God's plan fell in place for the Church as a Master Plan. Over a period of two years from January 2004-January 2006, God has allowed us to have 21.17 acres of land donated to the Church the existing Church is paid for at our new location and besides owing a little on our paving of the parking lot, everything else is paid for and the value of the property is 1.3 million which includes a new sanctuary, fellowship hall, Sunday school class rooms, foyer, Pastor's Study and clerk office. From March 2006 until present time of January 2011, we have doubled our attendance in Sunday School and morning Worship.
This year in 2011 we are claiming this year as our year of Harvest and we are striving to build our congregation through the harvest of our new community; by reaching at least 100 families this year. The Harvest is Ripe- Our prayer is we may reach it for Christ.
Future plans for the Church consist of a Daycare, housing for the elderly, Benevolence Programs; such as food pantry- clothing and health needs are being worked on. Also, we have hope of starting a
